Ramzy began his color grading career in 2015 studying with Alexis Van Hurkman, the author of the Color Correction Handbook and then continued his training with the Blackmagic Resolve team in Brooklyn, NY.
As Senior Colorist at Brooklyn Sound & Image in NYC, Ramzy has graded many noted narrative feature and documentary films. Ramzy also currently teaches color grading at Pratt Institute , University of Connecticut and DCTV in Manhattan. After fifteen years of working and teaching in NYC Ramzy has relocated to his home state of Oklahoma to share his skills as colorist and educator in the growing film industry of Oklahoma.
Ramzy has also worked as cinematographer / co-producer of Sundance Film Festival winner and Academy Award nominated film “The Wildest Show in the South: The Angola Prison Rodeo” and his film "Death In Vegas" was awarded the Grand Remi "Best of Show" at the Houston International Film Festival.
Ramzy’s color grading is also informed by his paintings, sculptures and video installations which have been exhibited in galleries and museums such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC, Shanghai Art Museum, China and the Unesco Art Gallery in Paris.
Ramzy graduated from the CalArts experimental film program.
